He still has the light grey stripes like you can see in the first picture, which i thought was odd. if you have any ideas please help and tell me the breed, thanks :]

Oh he grew up into a very handsome cat ! I love his large tall ears.
He is a domestic shorthair his colour is black.
The tabby marking you see on him are called ghost tabby marking. These are pretty common on solid cats when kittens. They usually lose these ghost markings as they get older. But your boy looks like he going to keep his stripes which does happen in some solid adult cats. But they are still genetically a solid coloured cat.
