What kind of cat is this?

I'm assuming this isn't your cat, either?

It's a blue shorthaired cat, most likely a domestic shorthair without any breed ancestry. Most blue cats don't belong to any specific breed. It's certainly a pretty color, though... personally I'm very fond of this color :)

Unfortunately not :( I took a shine to this little one a couple of years ago. He lived in my neighbourhood.

Some blue shorthairs have rolls of fat, but this one doesn’t. What determines the tendency to be fat?

Diet is a big factor. It's very common for cats to get fat if they have free access to dry food all day.

Maybe because a lot of blue cats seen on the internet are British Shorthairs, who tend to be thick and cobby and have big heads, although they really shouldn't have rolls of fat! But the shape of their head/face could look like fat rolls I suppose.
