Acne, is like humans - they are small blackheads on or around the chin area. If you wash the chin you will get "dirt" from the area. Its more noticable with cats with white or light color chins.

I have a whole collection of bowls: glass salad dishes for canned food, ceramic and stainless steel for dry, china for cat milk, and ceramic for water. Everything goes through the dishwasher, so I've got several of each type. The only plastic I use is the Petmate fountain, which also goes through the dishwasher once a week. The funniest thing is that we can't use the "wrong" type of bowl, for example, put canned food in a steel bowl, or cat milk in a glass dish, as Jamie will complain and refuse to eat or drink. It drives my husband crazy, and makes my mother-in-law paranoid when she cat sits. When he was a kitten, I would just grab the nearest bowl and fill it, but he had his own ideas about "proper" bowls for certain things, and now there are ironclad rules.
I stopped using plastic years ago, when we had a dog that would tip all his bowls - I finally started giving him his food and water in heavy stainless steel pots.
These are awesome. I have these for my kidlets.Originally Posted by blue Ash
I bought some stainless steal plates from Ikea, they work great for my cats, they are not too shallow, almost like a really shallow bowl.
I like stainless steal because I feed raw, steal is not porous so it washes cleaner and I have no worries about using bleach or anything I choose to clean it.
I also like stainless steal due to that reason it helps ward off feline acne (for example on a plastic bowl, it's porous so the surface is never cleaned as well, causing build up) which can lead to acne on the chin.
I try to use plates rather then bowls or at least very shallow bowls because some cats are more apt to eat all of their meal if their whiskers are not touch the sides of the bowl while eating. That bothers some...
Those really look awesome!
Wow, those are awesome - I might have to order them!
It's a local woman -- lives maybe a half hour's drive from us. I'm delighted to see her on the Internet. She deserves the recognition and the business.Originally Posted by babyharley
