And as I suggested earlier, water doesn't have to be "water."

In addition to moisture rich food, many cats who will not drink water will lap up a homemade (unsalted) broth. It is an inexpensive and nutritious way to help rehydrate a cat.

I give my cat sprung water so, I notice less urine clumps in her litter and it's normal clump already!!

He then lists a note about prescribing 3 Orbax 68mg tabs - 1/4 S/D - I have no idea what the S/D means, as it is not a standard medical abbreviation that I know.

SID meaning once a day. The vet's recommend dose is 1/4 of one 68 mg Orbax tablet once a day. The prescription is for 3 tablets so that's 12 doses.

Did you set up a follow-up with your vet? If you and they decide your kitty needs it, maybe they have a different brand of the prescription food that she might like.

I haven't yet, but I plan to call them when they open. She doesn't like her food. I only bought 2 cans of 2 flavors . So I'm going to call them and ask about if d mannose will help.

Many vets don'y know about d-mannose, or any supplement really, so don't expect much from your vet.

Yeah it seems so. 😕 but I'm going to wait until she finishes her antibiotics. She has really improved very fast than last time. Apparently it lasted half a day . Last time it 3 to 4 days. But the er vet gave her meds that messed her up so badly .

I have never heard of giving D Mannose to a cat but I reckon if there are articles on it, you could. I personally take it for my own UTIs and it causes the e.coli bacteria that can be in your bladder to not stick to the walls of the bladder or stay in the bladder.

Just some anecdotal info. My sister has really old cats with special needs. One had a UTI more often than not. Prescription urinary food has almost completely taken care of this problem. Her other cat, who is quite old, had some pretty progressed kidney disease and was starting to look like the end was near. Vet put him on kidney food and he got a new lease on life; he was more active, his coat got nice again, etc. He wasn't crazy about it, but he eventually ate it. This was several years ago, and he's been stable since then. Now it didn't affect his deafness, but you take what you can get, This cat is past 20 years old.

How did d mannose made it worse? My cat hates prescription food. If d mannose is bad then what can I do to prevent it. My cat is a fussy eater

My mistake. there is no way of knowing for sure if d mannose was the cause. Except serious testing so I said that out of frustration. My cat saw a specialist today. She does have ibd. What I bought has ingredients that may or may not be the cause

I give her weruva lamb and duck now

I'm debating if I should get wet food that controls it. But she is a fussy eater . I just don't want another uti episode.

I worry because lack of vet openings and scared to take uber or lyft to ers because I'm worried about being a rape victim in my strict state. I get panic attacks
