Sunny was my semi-feral kitty who passed away in his shelter last week.
He was found in a comfortable curled up sleeping position on his warming pad, his head on his paw. No visible signs of major trauma or wounds though there was a little dilute blood from his mouth and nose. The vet's guess is that he had lung disease, maybe pneumonia; possibly heart disease. Other than some reddish-brown crust in the corners of his eyes lately, no sign of illness, no change in appetite or activity. Sunny was going on just 9 years old.
Sunny lived up to his name - a big, robust, outgoing (loved getting pets, especially having his head rubbed) orange boy.
I can't believe he's gone - I've taken care of him since he was found with his brothers and sisters in an abandoned garage. He was about 9 months old at the time.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Was a cause ever found?
I miss my precious Sunny-bunny boy so much.
