What Does My Cat Look Like?

hi! this is george - he’s about 3 1/2 years old and we got him from a neighbor who was fostering a pregnant cat. i’ve been trying to figure out what breed he is or what his background might look like. his mother was a grey and brown short haired tabby and father is unknown. george has medium length hair and many different striped patterns along with bullseyes. any idea?

He's lovely! I would describe George as a brown classic tabby and white domestic shorthair. "Classic tabby" (or "blotched tabby") is the term for the tabby pattern that features a bullseye or swirling pattern on the side. Most cats are not any particular breed.

If George's mom was a brown tabby, his dad could have been just about any color possible in the domestic cat, since brown tabby is dominant. Either mom or dad would have had to have some white markings, but other than that, we can't deduce anything about dad's color or hair length (he could have been either longhair or shorthair).
