I never used to carry a very big bag around, but ever since the most recent Marie Claire when they had a free black bag attached I've used that and had a bigger bag. And isn't it full of junk???????!!!!!

Way back when i was in art school the teachers would set up still lifes. I went and asked my friends to dump out there purse on the table and drew that, as it fell, so be it. And i look at those old drawings every now and then and remember each person. Some times you are your junk.

Question - do you guys call it a hand bag, purse or pocketbook? My friends had a field day when I called it a pocketbook!

In my now-called purse, I have:

money, credit cards, gift cards and licence - all held by a ponytail holder! (don't ask!)

chapstick

mints/gum

And that's about it!

I am so excited that you have opened mail in your handbag

I thought I was the only one--I check it on my way out, open in the car or at work, and then it just goes around with me for weeks!!

I have a big bag thing I carry to work & back, which I tote mail, my lunch, magazines & other stuff that I need to bring to work or to home from work! And of course my camera goes in that bag, I don't go nowheres without my cam.

As far as a purse: I have a beat up, khaki backpack style purse as a purse-purse. It isn't really a purse but oh well. In it:

a makeup compact
lip gloss
Visine, can't live without Visine!
some bobby pins in case I wanna put my hair up
a pick-comb
a "pocket angel" that momma gave me

and in the back, zip part of the backpack:
my driver's lic
a credit card for emergencies
my debit card
insurance cards, health & car
Organ Donor card in case I croak
my daughter's card showing she has a titanium implant in her heart

and about 12 singles, some change, and plenty of lint.

Hey I've got a tampon, I know plenty of guys that the tampons mere presence could EASILY scare away!!!

reading glasses
compact umbrella
at least 2 pens
cigarettes
2 disposable lighters
small zippered pouch, containing ear muffies, for my headset
cellphone
chocolate

If I'm wearing a dress or pants with no back pockets, my wallet is also in there.

I usually only carry one to the car...and there is already too much in there to count...but I know no where near what I would find in many friend's bags...

your bag isn't as bad as many purses I have seen of my friends!
