What Breed?

So this is my cat Samson, and I was wondering if he was a pure breed because he's just grey, whereas the other cats I've had have been mixed colours. I thought maybe could you identify him for me? Many thanks Xx

I would describe Samson as a blue domestic shorthair. He is a handsome fellow! "Blue" is the technical term for a gray cat. The solid blue color is fairly common in the domestic cat population, particularly in North America, and doesn't indicate any specific breed ancestry. Most cats are not any particular breed.

Samson is gorgeous! He would be called a blue Domestic Shorthair. You could also call him a Maltese cat. I think there’s a possibility that he has some Oriental ancestry, though, because of his big ears, triangular head, long legs, and lean body. If you’re curious, you could get him DNA tested, to see if he has genetic similarities to the Oriental breed, or maybe another breed.
