Shes a year old and quite a fattie haha. I suspect her to just be a regular shorthair with a calico colouring but I just wanna see if anyone else has different opinions.

Nope, I second you. She's a gorgeous calico domestic shorthair. I have a soft spot for torties and calicos, and this girl's a stunner!
I, too, have a soft spot for calicos, she is gorgeous. If a cat is not a registered purebred, they are considered a Domestic Shorthair/Longahir. (One or the other) She looks to be quite content with her new home! I pray she brings you many yeras of happiness.....

Oh, How do you tell the difference between a description and a breed?The coloring and pattern IS calico.
But its a description, not a breed...
She fits the description of a calico. Descriptions are about patterns and marking. Breeds are registered. She is a beautiful calico.
A breed, like a Persian or Siamese, is a particular strain of cats with characteristics defined by cat showing/breeding organisations. Calico, just like black or tabby, is a coat colour/pattern that can occur in any breed or landrace of cat.
