My 17.5 yr old cat has high blood pressure, early stages of chronic kidney disease and ibd that's possibly small cell lymphoma. Currently he's doing well, eating good, normal litterbox habits and energy levels are ok, but his blood pressure really needs to come down, his .625 mg dose of amlodipine isn't enough, so my vet upped the dose to 1mg and added 4mg benazepril.
It looks like benazepril will help blood pressure, but may also help with kidney function. I'm wondering though if anyone could let me know if their cats experienced any side affects that I should look out for? And did this med have the bonus affect of helping kidney disease for you?
