Yesterday my nearly 17 yo cat had one wet ear. The hair around it is still crusty so probably some more discharge today. She is indoor only and hasn’t been around any other animals since my other kitty passed a month ago. I don’t see any sign of blood or mites—nothing looks out of the ordinary other than the watering and maybe a tiny bit of extra ear wax. She hasnt been scratching at her ear, shaking her head, or doing anything else out of the ordinary.

I already have a regular checkup scheduled for her on 2/2. Do you think I need to try to get her in sooner?

Is it water consistancy, clear fluid or thicker? I would dry the area and see if the moisture comes back.

I was able to get a better look at it and it is a greenish mucous, not just watery. No noticeable smell. So I will call the vet Monday morning. Maybe allergies? She has sounded a little congested. Today her eyes looked watery too.
