Lion has been with us for just about 2 weeks...approximately 7 year old male rescue. We think he has some Maine Coon characteristics. He seems on the smaller end of the MC range, but he does have that mane, and tufts of fur between his toes. He's very laid back, and doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled. What do you think? PS. His leg was shaved because he needed surgery to remove bladder stones.

His ears and muzzle are certainly similar to a Maine Coon. It's possible that he has some Maine Coon in him, or it could be he just comes from a common ancestor. The Maine Coon breed was developed from a natural breed, not created by putting different breeds together to get a specific look.

Most probably he is a longhair domestic. I myself think you could compare him with a siberian cat for a look alike. these are too biggish, but usually a step or two smaller than MCO.
