Sadly... my week sorta revolves around them... I have no life
My co-worker is an avid tv series collector and there's not much he doesn't have. Thanks to him, I've seen Deadwood, Six Feet Under, Dexter, True Blood, Heroes, Alias, Firefly (all one season of it), The Wire, The Shield, Prison Break, and there are a few more I can't remember right offhand. He has so many DVDs of tv series that he doesn't even have cable tv since he moved....he focuses on one series, then when he finishes it, he'll just start another one. He has tons and tons of movies, too, so he's never at a loss for anything to watch. In fact, sometimes when I get bored, I'll ask him to bring me one or two movies and I'll taken them home and watch them.I watch full TV series mostly through Netflix. I've seen 3 episodes (I think) of Dr. Who and:
I use dice to pick which series I'm going to watch next. If that doesn't seem interesting, I roll again. Between my preference of watching whole series from the beginning and the low cost, I have a Roku player and Netflix. I have cable up to August 11, but after that, I won't. I don't like reality shows. In fact, the more unrealistic, the better . So far, my favorites have been Persons Unknown, Alphas, Revenge, and Harper's Island, and of those, Persons Unknown and Revenge are my favorites -- I'm really upset that Persons Unknown got canceled. I thought about writing fan fiction to continue it, but I don't feel like I know what's going on well enough. I also really liked Twin Peaks when it was on, although I hated the final episode. I also didn't care much for the movie.
Not weird at all.. It's a great mix.We got sick of having a zillion channels and nothing to watch. When Gary called the Home Shopping Network to complain about them calling Italian gold "the best gold" (GOLD IS GOLD), I said that is IT.We got rid of dish in 2007, and there's no cable where we live as an option. We watch DVDs and yes, VHS tapes. So I haven't heard of most of these shows.
We have a LOT of movies. The TV series we have on DVD are
Mary Tyler Moore
Seinfeld
Andy Griffith (through season 5)
Yes, Prime Minister
Absolutely Fabulous
Keeping Up Appearances
Monk
Green Acres
Adams Family
3rd Rock from the Sun
Mash (not sure how many seasons)
News Radio
Just Shoot Me (wish they'd make the rest of them available!)
Probably a weird list, but...
I love Keeping up Appearances! My husband could never get into it. That whole family is hilarious, Daisy and Onslow always made me laugh! That's a great mix, Laurie! I'd watch those shows, too!
I've always loved Keeping up Appearances. Hyacinth is a hoot! I always liked As Time Goes By, too.
I can't believe I forgot to list The Big Bang Theory among my favorites.
