I believe that cats def. drink more water with a fountain. What scares me is the kitty finding the cord and chewing on it are there any fountains run by any other way beside electricity ????
I have had a fountain for 4 years and have a cord chewer, she's never chewed on the fountain cord. As far as I know the only fountains are electrically powered.
Well I just ordered the Pioneer from Amazon today based on review I read today (I think review is on this The Catsite ) Looked to be easier than the Ddrinkwell or Petsmate to take apart and clean, which has my concern with a pet fountain. We will see hen it arrives. Next problem is where will I place it, as regular area is nowhere near an outlet. Thank goodness cats are inquisitive!
You can hook into Amazon from this or the review website. I ordered the stainless steel, filters and cleaning brush. The fountain was only about $39.00 which I thought was a good deal I think they re usually $60 to $90 - so thought it was a good time to try it out. Too late now - Amazon just confirmed the order, although Amazon usually gives about 1/2 hour to cancel. I'm going with it.!
We purchased the Pioneer Pet Rain Drop style stainless about a month ago now. It works great, it is very quiet (the sound of the motor changes when you need to top off the water). But I think the ease of cleaning & reassembly has been great.
Neither of our boys have even remotely looked at the cord. Their attention is drawn to drinking fresh water, and each occasionally bat at where it bubbles out making the waterfall.
