Wall E
As most of you know by now I see a lot of movies. Mostly because I love to go sit in a nice dark theater and have a wold play out in front of me, but I also love to write about them. Especially when I see one like Wall E.
Wall E is a classic. It's almost a perfect film.
For those who don't know what it's about I'll give you a brief plot outline. Wall E is a single left over garbage robot in charge of cleaning up Earth after humanity has left. His days are spent compacting trash into large cubes, and looking at the stuff man kind has left behind. Wall E is a lonely soul left to fend for himself, so he's created his own world.
Cue, Eve, a sexy brand new probe robot that comes to Earth in search of plant life. She encounters Wall E, tries to kill him, and goes about her merry way. Wall E becomes smitten with her.
This film does things with animation that I didn't think were possible. Pixar, has taken the genera and put new life into it. I can't say enough good things about how this movie looks, feels, and made me feel.
Now, it is rated G, but I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. The first half of the film is silent. That's right, no one talks. We hear the clicks and chirps of Wall E and Eve, but there's no dialog in the traditional sense. For a younger kid this may be a bit much. I'd say seven and up with this one, but as always make your own judgments.
Also, the short put in front of Wall E is one of the cutest films I've ever seen.
All in all, if you have plans this July 4th and it rains make Wall E your plan B.
