My 8-year-old Siamese mix, Eve, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last spring. We had been going to the vet a lot to try to remedy the vomiting issues that had cropped up over the winter- vomiting whole meals, sometimes after both meals of the day and with significant weight loss. It took a long time to realize she had congestive heart failure because she was always purring so the vet couldn't hear her lungs and heart very well.
The vomiting reduced when I started crushing her food and soaking it in water (can't afford wet food, daycare costs more than I make until the oldest starts 5k next year) and almost disappeared after we started furosemide. Eve was also prescribed a second med to increase her heart function, but it caused severe vomiting and diarrhea so she can't have it.
It's been a few good months, but now she's starting to vomit more frequently again. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do to reduce her vomiting? She has been overgrooming on and off since her illness started, but there hasn't been an fur in the vomit lately.
