Viva Raw | Premium Raw Dog & Cat Food Delivered, Flat-Fee Shipping

Just got my order worth 20lbs of turkey, chicken, rabbit and duck. Package was well-insulated and was still frozen after 3 days.

I was drawn to them by their great customer service, fair pricing and the fact that they offer coarse-ground meat [as well as fine and chunks].

Check them out if you get the chance.

Viva raw isn’t nutritionally complete on its own, as it’s just a base 80/10/10 ratio. You can use alnutrin for meat and bone, individual supplements, or whole foods to fill up the nutritional gaps. Additionally, some cats have trouble with 10% bone, and may get constipated, so you may need to dilute the bone to 8% or so with additional muscle meat and organ.

You need sources of EPA+DHA, iodine (be very careful with dosage, too much can cause thyroid issues), manganese, vitamin e, and zinc. Many of these gaps can be filled with just good quality fish oil with tocepherol, and raw eggs, but you’ll still need sources for some of the others.

Interesting product :) Yes, it's only 80/10/10:

Viva Raw products meet the Prey Model raw feeding ratios of 80% meat, 10% bone and 10% organ. Some of our pet parents prefer to use Viva as a base & customize their pet meals with supplements & other natural foods.

We are working on a more detailed guide for Prey Model Raw Diet supplementation. In the meantime, for clients who prefer to meet AAFCO / NRC nutrient guidelines, we recommend adding the following whole foods to our products: canned oysters for zinc, nuts/seeds or wheatgrass for magnesium, green tripe & blue-lipped mussels for manganese, kelp for iodine, nuts for vitamin E, sardines and other oily fish for vitamin D.

As always, variety is key to achieving natural balance, so we definitely recommend rotating between 3-5 proteins regularly for your pet!

But I wonder if customers know that they're supposed to add in a few supplements for cats? Some of the reviews show pictures of cats eating the meat but no mention if supplements were added. Rabbit meat in particular is naturally very low in taurine so a taurine supplement is a must.
