Hello all!

I have two healthy indoor male cats (Ages 9 and 8). Both have been 100% indoors, however life has happened and now they are both in care of my elder mother (I live halfway around the country). She is unable to keep up with their nail clippings and will have to take them outside to get their nails trimmed.

All trimming places ask that they have their rabies shots.

I have not immunized both cats since their youth <1 years of age. How do you suggest I go about this?

Thus far, I'm thinking of taking them to the vet to get their rabies and perhaps other vaccines and then taking them to the trimming/grooming places.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

That's your best bet, although many vets will clip their claws as well. Be sure to ask. It may be less expensive doing both at once.

Oh, I definitely wouldn't go to a groomer just for a nail trim. Most vets will do it, and some don't charge if it's part of a vet visit, so if you're going to have to go there anyway...
