Our city of apparently has a water leak, and they can give us no idea when it will fixed. They have had the spot in front of our mailboxes (ours and several others) for over two weeks now blocked off. Claims have been made that the mail truck can't get to it safely because the ground is soft. Alright, I get that. Now we are told that the postal carrier is not allowed to "dismount" out of his vehicle to put the mail in the boxes. What does this translate to for those who have boxes there? The mail is kept at the post office.
This is all good and well, if not for the fact they [The Post office] now have limited hours. We can't even get our mail today, because they are not available on Saturdays to hand mail through the door. To get the mail during the week, I have to go to the post office in our recent 100+ degree heat, which should not be happening. With my ankles, I do good to walk to the mailbox everyday. Being physically disabled, you would think between the city of Savoy and the Postal Service, there would be some degree of efficiency. Next step: Media. DH is contacting the news as we speak.Hopefully some negative media attention will yield results....
What would you do? It's just so irritating!
