Long story short: Mitties is on Lactulose since August for chronic constipation and Megacolon. It's going well, and the Lactulose keeps her perfectly regular. She is fed Orijen twice a day. All of a sudden (yesterday) she has major diarrhea! GROSS WARNING: It's half soft log and half liquidy.
Now, I have decreased her Lactulose from 3cc's twice a day to 3cc's once a day and that has been going well too.
So why the diarrhea all of a sudden? She seems perfectly fine and healthy otherwise. She didn't get into anything in the house. The only thing I can think of is I did give her some catnip a couple days ago and she ate some of it. She is strictly an indoor cat and never goes outside.
She's gets constipated so easily that I dare not change her diet in any way, and that's why I've avoided the boiled rice and broth. But this is day two of the dreaded "D" and I know it can't be good!
My MIL works at the vet and I may bring in a stool sample for analysis...
