My 4 yr old cat had to have her teeth pulled. She absolutely refuses to eat canned food. I contacted Royal Canine. They suggested their dry for mature cat 7 yrs old +. Has anyone ever used this food?

Amalie is missing about half her teeth and would not even touch wet food after her oral surgeries. I tried her on canned and raw. She eats Nature's Variety Instinct chicken. The pieces are pretty small. I haven't watched her like a hawk to see if she's attempting much chewing. They don't chew their food thoroughly like we try to do. Yue barfs whole food pieces so I know that's true.

I'm sure a lot of people have used this food. Maybe you could ask a Mod to change your title to something like "anyone use "anyone use Royal Canin for Mature Cats" or something like that. Just hit the little flag in your post if you want to do that.

S sallie , I changed your title to reflect the fact your cat has had her teeth pulled.
I personally haven't used the Royal Canin so can't comment on that. I have known a couple of cats with no teeth, and they did absolutely fine. One ate a lot of cooked chicken and rice mixed with supplements, and the other ate canned and kibble. So they can still eat just fine, even kibbles. The Royal Canin seems to be quite a popular brand.

She has started to vomit once in a while. She didn't do that before her teeth were pulled. I think she now eats too fast or pieces are too big.

If you think she is eating too fast, you can raise her dish, put an obstacle in her bowl (like a clean golf ball) , or buy a slow feed bowl. As to the size of the pieces, that's anther issue. If, indeed, that is the problem, you may need to find another food with smaller pieces.

Our cat had some teeth extracted before we adopted him. After we adopted him we had to take him to a feline dental specialist to remove several more teeth. We tried all types of canned food but for some odd reason it gave him diarrhea even with a slow transition. I now feed him Fromm grain free dry in the morning which has very small pieces and Stella & Chewy or Primal freeze dried raw in the evening. He loves both the Fromm dry and freeze dried raw food and no problem with his poops. :D Hope this helps. Best of luck!
