Tyler was born 10/26/89 and had 1 brother, 1 sister. From the time he could toddle, he gravitated to me. He "chose" me. I never meant to keep him, but how blessed I was that I did, and had him in my life until today.
Tyler was a great-grandson of Shulamith, the very first American Curl that all registered Curls are descended from. He was solid black, like her, and I like to think around the muzzle, he had some of her handsome head as well.
Tyler was the first of my cats to earn a Championship (in Tica, as an alter) and went on to show with me for years, earning titles in CFF, CFA, TICA, ACFA, various breed awards, and earned "firsts" for the breed. The time we spent was special...he would go up to or come back from the show rings standing front paws on my left shoulder, rear paws on my right, swatting my face with his tail as I tried to see where the heck I was going.
He wasn't into other cats, just was into me. It is humbling to have a cat love you like that.
It was hard lettiing go of him after he passed, I just wanted to sit there and keep him in my arms. It doesn't feel right that I can't do that again.
He crossed while in my arms, his paws over my arm, chin resting on my arm, his tongue tipping as it would do when he was most happy.
Thank you for choosing me Ty, my sweet, sweet baboo. I will carry you now in my heart. Know that I will always love you, and please, make up with Patrick when you see him? Time for you two to be friends at last.
