What a beautiful boy, I love the stories about how uncle Lucky looked after the kittens. He was a beautiful boy in looks and in spirit. He was a very special little guy
Thank you, he really was. Hard to believe it will be two months next Monday. I feel like it was just the one-month anniversary yesterday. Such a far cry from the first week, which felt like years going by.

love this fur baby ... 15 ...WOW . He sure doesn't look it. His family must take extremely good care of him. Lucky Hurley ... :-) and lucky family.
And Beautiful! :-)
He is awesome! We just lost his brother 2 days ago, so we are keeping an eye on him.
When his buddy got sick and wouldn't eat as much, Hurley was more than happy to finish it for him
He's not fat, he's fluffy.
Maya is precious! What an awesome story. She is so lucky to have you to take care of her. Tuxedo's are one of my favorites and as you can see ... that's what I have although he is a medium hair Tux.
Maya is also a rescue, she and her brother were the only survivors of a group of cats that were rescued from an abusive owner. They lost their mother and 2 littermates at 3 months old and were fostered by a wonderful local rescue until they were recovered enough for adoption. Maya is 3 and a half years now and almost entirely recovered from her anxiety and fear of humans.
so sweet!

This is such a beautiful thread, I love all the photos!

I'm so thankful they found her when they did and I was able to take her in. It's been incredible watching her go from this terrified little thing who would hardly leave the box in the corner to as confident and friendly as she is now. She still has some ways to go but I'm so proud of her. I really believe rescuing an abused animal is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. The first time Maya let me pet her, months after she came home, was just amazing. I'm still in awe over how strong she is to have made it through that situation so young and to have begun trusting people after being abused at such a sensitive age.Maya is precious! My two are kept separate due to fighting, so not all of them want a friend.I'm still ISO companion kitty for my mean, beautiful little Nala Ava Marie. The obstacles are 1. My fiancé whom thinks even Nala is one cat too many at times. 2. My fear that Nala would be mean to another cat, she loves to hiss and growl and she can be intimidating. Vet bills, food costs, litter, etc are secondary. Nala's vet offers second pet discounts so I'm not worried about that. Nala is very spoiled and demanding, I don't know how she would handle sharing the spotlight. We looked at Belle, before Ava's oven accident, I guess I felt quite guilty also after that, like how can I have another kitten/cat if I let Nala get hurt like that. I know she is a fast little kitty and I would never intentionally allow her to get hurt. Nala will be 17 weeks old on Tuesday. I hope that's still young enough to adapt possibly to having a sibling companion? Though I lavish her with attention, love, treats and toys I still sense sometimes that she is depressed or lonely. All the kitties with companions and humans to love them are very lucky. [emoji]128570[/emoji]
I don't know how you can say she has a "mean streak", she's only 4 months old, just a baby! Like all babies she is selfish, wants everything just for her, no sharing etc. and will try to take things from others even if it means hissing, biting or striking out with her paws (if she is declawed, I hope not, she will tend even more to bite). So what, she'll get over it as time passes and the other cats or humans in her life set boundaries. Some cats never learn to cuddle with others, just with their humans. Don't put human interpretations on cat behavior, they are CATS, not little humans in cat clothing.Thank you! She's cute but still has a mean streak. She's as feisty as she is cute!
