I was making a double dough for an apple pie, then as I was going to put on the top dough, I decided to make a streudel instead. So I had an extra pie dough already rolled out, so I decided to make a turkey pot pie for dinner and put this "top" in the bottom of a new pie dish. Now the turkey filling is done, but I don't have anything to top it with........ Dummy me, can't plan ahead!
Anyway, do I have to make a new top pie dough to add to the turkey pie, or can I use something else instead? Like a streudel without the sugar or something???? Does it have to be a lid? I mean, have you ever seen a dinner pie without a lid on it? I'd love some suggestions! Thank's in advance!
By the way, I made too much filling, so now I have stew for lunch!
