How do I know if my cat is blocked? My Fiance, Matt says to let the antibiotics work.
This does not sound good and he is still not out of the woods and needs to get back to the vet immediately. He may even need a catheter and fluids at this point and have to stay at the hospital for a day or so. I am so sorry for your kitty as he is in great, great pain. This is definitely a life threatening condition and he is suffering. The antibiotics will not unblock him, nor will any diet . He needs that catheter, IMO, to allow the crystals to pass through. I would also do the blood work when he goes back. Poor baby........... mega, mega, mega vibes to your kitty and a hug for you as you do what you can for your boy Not easy to see them suffering so.I'm still so sad (on the verge of crying) because I still don't see any improvement. Sammy still isn't eating. He isn't laying on the blanket that I left for him, and he hangs his head over his water bowl without drinking. He trys to go to the bathroom but still isn't going. My Fiance is giving him his pain meds and antibiotic timely, but I don't see any improvement. Sammy just lays next to the water and looks out of it Should I just keep waiting for him to get better or is there something I should do? We didn't get any blood tests for Sammy, just the urinalysis.
I would want a better explanation of how the surgery is supposed to make him better, if he doesn't get better this weekend. I don't quite understand how his reasons for continued blockage are solved by having his penis removed. This morning the vet catherised him and drained his bladder. He was not blocked. At home he wAs only dribbling pee. She said he was having urethra spams. She prescribed him a muscle relaxer and said that should help. She's hoping he gets better this weekend or he will have to have surgery to have his male parts removed.
Can someone tell me what they think about all this? Will my cat get better???
