So long story short I got this really sweet 1 year old domestic short hair cat from a random family. He's really sweet and I've had him for about three months. He spent the first month hiding under my bed for the most part but now he does come out a lot and likes chilling on his cat bed which is perched up on a window. He does spend some time under the bed still such as he likes hiding/ sleeping there. Anyways he lets me pet him all over (even the stomach when he feels like it), play with him etc. but something I'm still having trouble with is getting him comfortable with sitting by me. I've been reading and hearing a lot of different advice and don't really know which one is the right one. For example there are some people who say I just need to wait for him to come to me but there are others that say if I do that it would take years. Anyways I also saw this video but this really confused me. Is what this vet saying correct?? Would forcing him to stay on my lap help? I'll include a link down below.
Thank you guys so much in advance!
