Tritrichomonas Foetus

Anyone ever heard of it? I did a little research on it, and the only thing I could really find on it was that it's a bovine virus that can also effect cat colonies and multiple cat households. But I'm not really sure how it's spread. We just had to put three cats down at my shelter from this virus, and I'm curious on how it's spread and the signs and or tests for it. Any thoughts?
