None. There aren't any small children in the neighborhood anymore, at least the ones who are around don't come here. We don't know the newer people and parents pretty much take their children to the homes they know well.
That doesn't stop dear Richard from buying candy though. He's on his second bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups....when he got home from bowling last night and I told him that no children stopped in, he put the second bag in the freezer (he had already eaten the first bag). He likes them frozen.
None whatsoever, the same as last year. I saw some teenagers in costumes walking down the street, but they were apparently on their way to a Halloween party. Nobody seems to let their small children go trick or treating around here anymore.
A lot, but I don't know exactly how many because I didn't get home until about 7:00pm. Tom said the kids started coming around 4ish I think. Good mixture of little kids and teenagers; most in costume. Older kids are pretty lame for the most part. They think walking around in the clothing they wore to school and a knapsack constitutes trick or treating I guess.
Last one was 8:30. Well, might have been more but we turned off the porch lights because we didn't want to be bothered at that point. We handed out a lot of candy but I still have a ton of it left. I would have returned it but he opened all the bags so that we could give out a nice assortment lol. Anyway, the people in my office are benefiting from the overage now and are extremely happy about it
None, but we keep buying candy every year (just in case!) There are only two houses in about a 4 block radius around our house, so the pickins are slim, I guess it's just not worth it! Now I've got to eat all that, darn!
We had a LOT ! We went thru at least 7 bags of candy. It started out pretty slow, so I told DH we might as well give out a couple of candy bars per person, then it really started picking up and I was afraid we were going to run out, even though we went back down to just one bar per person. It was mostly little tykes, which was good. And they were ALL in costume, even the slightly older ones.
We had maybe 100. I bought a bag of candy (Mom- you got the gross stuff said dd
). Ok- I got the cheap stuff. But I got it 2 days ago and had no clue how many kids we'd have. And it was warm enough out that I sat at the end of the driveway with dd and we handed out candy.
We used to get tons when my kids were little. And I know there's kids in this neighborhood. School busses full of kids drive by. But as the years have gone by, we get less kids.
I think it's because we have 3 big churches (including the one we go to) that does some sort of a Harvest festival that night. They all have food, they all have those blow up jumpy things that the kids LOVE. They all give out candy. And if you are a working parent who doesn't get home until 5pm- it is a pain to feed the kids, and then take them around the neighborhood.
I have to admit though- most of the elementary school kids had at least 1 parent with them. And they were all so polite
It is fun giving out the candy. Dd will be a senior next year and it may be the last year we do anything. Church is always looking for help on that night. We went to it a few times when the kids were little and it was fun. I don't know if I'd do T&T when we have no more kids here
As usual we had no trick or treaters. We live kind of in the sticks here and there are no street lights. Been in this house 13 years and never had trick or treaters. When we lived in Ft. Lauderdale we would get lots of kids and it was fine. Kind of miss those little faces! But of course Paul bought candy "just in case". Guess who is eating the candy now? And it's not me!
Around 30 total, way less than we expected. One of our neighbors brings the kids and parents onto their patio and makes them do tricks.. like free entertainment for the night, smart. Our kittens tail was poofed to double its size, and he hissed a bit.. life experience for him.
None coz I made sure I was out :-) Saw endless groups of teenagers and students heading off to fancy dress parties and a few parent led troups of younger trick or treaters trapsing home with heavy looking carriers out and about when I was walking home though! Plenty fun costumes to grin about....
I got one when I wasn't expecting any. Cousin stopped by with his daughter after they had put decorations on his father's grave (his dad was born on Halloween).
I didn't have any candy (:jaw: ) so I gave her $.25. umpkin:
I counted 73 but my numbers were a bit off and it was probably closer to 80. My husband and I sat in the driveway and handed out candy so the dogs wouldn't bark all night from the doorbell ringing lol. The little kids were dressed up way more than the older kids. I saw one cool father dressed as Batman and some other adults dressed up with their kids as well. The cutest one we saw was a little 2 year old boy dressed as a golfer, he had the clubs and everything.
They had cancelled our Halloween here til tonight cause of the rain on Friday so we may just walk around tonight. Grandkids aren't doing the trick or treat thing They think they are too old to dress up I guess tonight.
Oh I had people show up alright, but I refuse to open my door to them and its just as well because the tirade of abuse that my neighbours and I got for not opening the door was unreal.
Dont get e wrong I love seeing the decorations I just dont like the begging that goes with it
