First of all our house has six cats; Rose, Ra, Slipper, Princess, Spot and Asia. All of them have this problem.

It's that time of year again--time for the trees to be leaking sap (I know, several of the cats have sap in their fur). They don't like being brushed, they don't like being wiped down with a warm washrag, the comb breaks when it hits the sap--how do I get it out of their fur before it turns into mats?

Hmmm...The only way I know of to remove tree sap from clothes is with rubbing alcohol, but you'd need to wash it right off, so I don't know if that will work for you. Honestly? If it's not a lot of sap, I might just carefully snip the affect bits of hair off before it mats. I'm sure others will have more ideas, though.

I agree the best thing might be to just snip it out before it gets matted. You could also try getting a metal comb so it doesn't break.
