Rarely does a film come around that is able to sustain a level of sweet empathy before it falls into a sugar based coma and then dies. For some reason Train Man is able to do it. It starts off as a sweet love story and carries the watcher right on through. Let me walk you thought it...
A self described geek chases away a drunk man from a girl on a train. He wants to get to know her better, because of a lack of social skills he isn't able to. So, he posts on-line.
The rest of the film is showing how he takes their advice and gets the girl.
The movie is straight forward and honest. It doesn't pull any punches it's just a love story. A refreshing love story.
Rent it. Rent it tonight.
EDIT: It's a Japanese language film. You will have to deal with subtitles.
