I have a Tomahawk trap that I love and I recently purchased the "kitten screen" for it. It is to keep big cats from triggering it if you are just going after the kittens (I am trying to get the kitten before I get mom). I put the screen into the trap and my concern is that the opening looks awfully small. Maybe 3 inches by 3 inches. Can a kitten fit through that ok? I would estimate these kittens to be around 7 weeks old.

I would think a 7 week old kitten could fit through there. Why don't you wire the trap to stay open and dangle a toy inside to see if it's going to work.
If it's too small, you could look for someone to cut the opening a little larger, then wrap the cut edges with a couple of layers of duct tape so no one gets hurt.
