Aw, Rex is gorgeous... and that fur looks super silky. As far as what he is, I would say he is a Tabby Cat.

Yes, domestic shorthair, tabby with white.   I think he is a classic tabby, even if the bulls eye isnt clearly visible.

Very cute, and apparently enjoying both his Ma, and also, being admired and photographed.
