I live in a residential neighborhood, and take care of three feral cats (regularly - there are probably a stray or two that come in to feed that I don't know about, I'm sure). They are all fixed, two of them are females that I have been caring for since they were born to their feral mama (who has since disappeared, I am heartbroken).
We are considering a move, and literally the first thing I thought of was, "Who will take care of the cats?" We have some neighbors down the street that do have ferals of their own, and I am friendly with them, even helping them with TNR. I am pretty sure if I asked them, they would feed my crew. My question is really this: how will my cats find their way to the neighbor's house? Will they start looking for new places to feed and just find it? I am so concerned that they might not find their way over. I know that males have a wide range (one is male). But I thought that females don't range very far...and I don't know if anyone else on the block that is closer, would be willing to feed. In fact, I am pretty sure not.
Anyway, if anyone has any insight, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you!
