Dh and I were visiting with a friend of 30 years and of course reminiscing about our misspent youth. We were as wild a bunch as you could get without the violence or criminal activity. We just had more fun that normal people. Anyway, we started talking about some of the particulars of living there, and the conversation came around to "what is the strangest thing anyone has ever said to you."
Got any good stories, cat people? I'll start.
We were living in a small apartment complex populated with mostly our friends and the staff of the local Waffle House. We had just rolled out of bed on a Sunday morning and were heading across the street to another friend's place for coffee. One of the waitresses stumbled out of her place, still hammered from the night before, and in the most serious tone you could imagine said "I have a dead guy on my couch. Wanna see him? He's blue." It got a resounding "NO" and we continued on for our coffee.
Turns out it was an elderly fellow that liked to sneak out of his daughter's house and go drinking. He had slept on several couches around the apts and we all watched over him while he was there. He had passed away of natural causes in his sleep. We didn't know what else we should do, so we called the police from across the street, and they came and took him away.
