I'm really interested in what all of you have to say about cat food additives especially carrageenan, guar gum, xanthan gum, etc. I have been wondering about kelp, agar agar, and alfalfa as well.
I just read a product description for Halo Spot's Pate Ground Chicken Recipe Grain Free canned cat good and it says, "Carrageenan protects from kitty colds". Where do they get the right to print that? It's one thing to use the additive but then to praise it as a cold deterrent? Hello?
Anyway, I'm new to getting my cats on healthy food, trying to go raw, but only my younger cat is going for it.
