I have three positives today:
1. I finished the book I was reading this morning. :yess:
2. I went kayaking. The weather was perfect for it. The air was warm and the sun was hidden by the clouds so it wasn't too hot. It wasn't windy and the water was almost as smooth as glass. The sky was decorated with beautiful clouds that looked incredibly against the dark green pines. I wish I took a picture. It was amazing. :cloud9:
3. It rained a bit, which is great. The week's forecast says there will be more rain. :bliss:
You had an amazing day!!

I'm finally getting a new pair of glasses.Today I have the eye exam and choosing the frames today.
The pair I'm wearing now are from 2010, filled with scratches. Because I broke my newest pair.
I've been wearing these till it was ok to see docs. I dropped the planter and all the tomatoes were
all over the ground but I was able to replant them. I hope they'll be ok. The cat I'm feeding loves
my chair...so cute!

My kids were cranky and bickering this morning. This afternoon my DD basically just went into the kitchen and started baking brownies from a mix without even asking. (She did need a little help; but not too much.) The next thing I knew she had washed her tea set and we were having a tea party with Mooch in the livingroom. Everyone’s mood improved!

Mooch had crunchy treats on her plate but she already ate them by this point. She didn’t wait for the party to start but she did hang out for a bit. 💜

Went to the hair salon today! :yess::rockout: So happy with my hair! :redheartpump:
*Insert the many thousands of quarantine hair jokes here*
No jokes from me. I went to the beauty shop a little over a week ago and it felt so good I didn't want to leave.
Carleton went to the groomer today, I guess that counts as the kitty hair salon. 😄

I found out I have cataracts on both eyes and will eventually need surgery; makes me feel old. I thought
my left eye vision was worse but not by very much. Oh well.

The little cat I was feeding didn't come for brekkie today. Cal is looking for him. I'm on the deck and she's
looking over at Mitch's yard where the Vincie girl used to go to and fro, darling girl, we miss her so much.
We feel closer to her while on the deck hough at times it's sad

I have good books, videos, and Kaylee will be here in an hour, so I'm happy!:jive: 📚.⛱

My mom's had cataract surgery on one eye (covid has delayed the second), and it's definitely improved her vision. The thought of eye surgery terrifies me even though I know it goes right more often than wrong.

I guess I need something positive. Um, I made brownies last night and they look and smell good even though I haven't had the chance to eat any yet.

Me too. My left eye has a much bigger one than the right and I hope this fall it will be big enough for removal. I babysat my mother through both of her surgery recoveries. The surgery is pretty easy and they dope you up enough don’t really know or care what they are doing. All the drops afterwards is the nuisance part but a return to good vision Is the reward.

My MIL had her cataracts removed last fall. She seemed to get through the recovery quickly.
Yeah. Everything is usually a major thing for my mom so when she came to stay with me after firsr cataract surgery I was prepared to care for her for days. But first night she was up watching TV and felt well enough to go home the next day.

The tire light went on In my husband's car and he lost 10# of air. He was sure he'd need 2 new tires so he took the car in for inspection. It turned out to be a nail in the tire which they were able to repair. My positive is it cost a helluva lot less than 2 new tires. 🚙

How long is the recovery? I have not researched it because when Dr. Hakim started to say something
about cutting and removing, putting back in, blah, blah I decided to wait.

It was maybe an hour and a half total that she was in having the procedure but she said a lot of that was having various drops put in. She had no real memory of the procedure itself and then a bit of time to fully wake, have more drops and get a load of instructions. At home she felt okay except her eye felt sore. Like three different drops a couple times in the evening and an eye patch to wear to bed but no other physical after effects. With her first eye she could see better immediately. Her second eye, done a few months later, was much worse and it took her a few months to regain most of her vision. One of the reasons to deal with a cataract when it should be removed is that it can hide macular degeneration disease and that is what was discovered in my moms eyes about six months after her second surgery.

Nicole has stable md and was told she needed to have cataract surgery. When she went to the surgeon last week he said he thought there was bleeding around the retina so sent her to retina specialist yesterday. There was bleeding around the retina and she had shots in both eyes and will have to every month for the rest of her life. Once the md is stabilized she will have the cataract surgery. Neither of our parents had anything like this but our Uncle did. Dr. Hakim said I don't have md. The retina specialist said the Cleveland Clinic is doing md trials, they will pick you up and take you home, everything is paid for, but Nicole doesn't want to be in a trial. I hope the monthly injections work as I would hate for her to lose her sight.

My mom has been having the eye shots for about a year. It did help her get some of her lost vision back and as long as she keeps getting them, retain most of the vision she has. They numb her eye before the shot so it doesn’t feel as bad as you think it would but is very sore for a day afterward.

The kids and I went into Walmart for the first time in ages. I got several things I’d been looking for but then we stopped at Chick-Fil-A for lunch. I’ve been craving their nuggets! 🤤

I was also able to get a few gift cards for some birthdays. The selection was way better than I expected! The kids Sunday scool teacher’s birthday was a month ago but i haven’t been in a store. :paperbag: She is still doing weekly zoom classes with the kids and I’ve heard they are dropping off summer surprises to the kids too. She deserves a nice gift! It was nice to find options I haven’t given people before too. I feel like it shows more thought.

MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles , I also did my first trip to Walmart since the pandemic took off. I had a couple of things I could only get there so I went early on a rainy morning when I hoped the store wouldn’t be too busy. I was right, not that many people shopping, and everyone was masked so it felt pretty safe. And as soon as I got in the door I kept thinking of more things I really needed and ended up with a cart full of stuff. I have a Target near home but they just don’t have the selection of Walmart.

Mooch’s pet steps for the couch arrived today. I put them together and she took right to them once we put a few treats on it. She just came up making her little cute cuddle-me-squeak. :hearthrob:

I did that too today susanm9006 susanm9006 . It wasn’t quite full; but there were definitely things that were only on my mental list. I didn’t get the super soft pjs I spotted and I kind of regret it. DH told me afterwards that he had a prescription ready so maybe I’ll get that tomorrow and go get those pjs. 🤪

I kept thinking of things that have been out of stock when I do my grocery orders. Like All Free & Clear. I got a big jug today. The store itself seemed more normal outside of cleaning products. I even got a big pack of our preferred tp!
