3 miles walked outside during my lunch hour. That gives me 5 miles for the day.
It is very, very nice outside today.

Reason why I have not done walking test yet is that it is two steps forward and you move like would of taken one step, tomorrow getting worse here, above zero with liquid material from the sky, then freezes for a night, certainly won't be walking for few days, winter tires to bicycle and it should work ok.I managed to get a 2.5 mile walk in today despite the snowy sidewalks. After almost falling for the third time, I called it a day. It feels like I walked over 4 miles though because it was tough walking.
That sounds like a lot of fun!
I live in Michigan and the weather is often too cold to exercise outside, so I use a mini-trampoline in my living room for exercise.
I'm definitely glad that we don't have your winter!Reason why I have not done walking test yet is that it is two steps forward and you move like would of taken one step, tomorrow getting worse here, above zero with liquid material from the sky, then freezes for a night, certainly won't be walking for few days, winter tires to bicycle and it should work ok.I managed to get a 2.5 mile walk in today despite the snowy sidewalks. Only 3 months of snow and ice left here, then bigger roads starts to be open, 4 months and mud season starts on smaller roads, I don't know if it cheers you up that you don't need to have our winter
YakTrax. They are great for walking in snow and ice. And they're not real expensive, but you can get knock-offs at WalMart. I can jog/run when I'm wearing my YakTrax and I won't slip. They really dig in to the ice. I go through a pair every season. (I am so afraid of falling and breaking something.)I managed to get a 2.5 mile walk in today despite the snowy sidewalks. 10 miles! OMG! Well done you.
jogging for 10 miles.
exhausted!!!!!!
This is exactly what I was going to ask. Part of the time I would be on dry sidewalks.Yes, they're pretty much like the YakTrax. They criss-cross under the shoe. They really bite into snow and ice. Do you like yours? Do yours work well, too?
The only problem I can find is that they usually only last one season. Part of the problem is that you're not supposed to wear them on dry roads; they're really meant for snow and ice. The problem is that (and I mentioned this before) not all property owners clean their sidewalks and as passersby walk in the snow, they wear it down and it eventually turns into an icy mess. I am scared to death of falling (I have osteopenia and my doctor always says, "Whatever you do, don't fall!). So I wear the YakTrax until I know that sidewalks are clear, the sides of the roads are OK, etc. So part of the time, I walk on ice and snow; the other part I'm on dry roads. And the coils aren't made for dryness....and they will break/snap. I usually end up buying a new pair at the beginning of the winter season. Still, I suppose it's cheaper than falling down and breaking a bone.
2.25 miles on the treadmill this morning.
Glad to hear it's going again  Be carefulI used to brush my teeth as soon as I finished eating dinner, trying to stave off snack attacks. Overall, it went fairly well.
OK, the treadmill is working again. We don't know how long it's going to last. We spent a good two hours in the basement yesterday, greasing and tightening and trying to get the belt running without that insane squeak. And working on the drive motor and all kinds of stuff. The walking belt is starting to tear, not badly, but we can see the fray. I'm going to have to call somebody to see about putting a new belt on.
2 miles on the treadmill this morning. (And it was fairly quiet, too. Hardly any squeaking and none of that really loud squawking that it was doing. And while the drive motor -- or whatever it is -- did go from 3.0 down to 2.3 and then back up, that's all it did. Lasted about ten seconds and I was on and walking. We'll see.)
