I started my workouts over again today. I finished my 21 day fix and took a little break from working out but started again today. I did total body cardio today, that one is rough especially for the first workout.
I gradually got up to 20,000 steps. I started the walk challenge just after Memorial Day and slowly increased my steps over the next few weeks. I went way over my recommended stage 1 target of 10,000 steps. My recommended stage 2 step was 17,441 but I've done way more than that so far. I've been aiming for around 20,000 steps daily for the past week just to keep my "lifestyle score" up and to keep the overall team average up.
If you went from zero or close to it to 20,000 steps quickly, your body hasn't had much of a chance to adjust to the pace and it's telling you so. 20,000 steps is a lot to just jump into, when you're not used to it, no matter what kind of shape you're in or how old you are.
1 mile is about 2,000 steps. The recommended 10,000 steps a day is about 5 miles.
@LTS3 how far, in miles or in minutes, is 20,00 steps?
I see. I worked out the walk I do is just under 6 miles, then there are all those extra steps pushing the vacuum around and going up and downstairs every time I forget something.

It takes me all day to get 20,000 steps in. More active people can get in at least twice that many steps in the same amount of time.
Thanks my friendI see. I worked out the walk I do is just under 6 miles, then there are all those extra steps pushing the vacuum around and going up and downstairs every time I forget something.
I didn't get a walk yesterday as it was pouring. This monsoon is going on for ever this year.
Just finished an hour of yoga.
@Tammat
if it's too wet to walk I'll run up and down the stairs a couple of times for you. Hope you're feeling better soon.
