We've had termites for years and could never afford to treat for them. My brother doesnt take it very seriosuly says they are harmless, which is obviously not true. Anyway, i treated the home with Home defense bug spray, and it seems to have killed all the swarmers. I sealed the hole where they were coming from, and poured diatomaceous earth in the hole.
they seemed to go away, but found two swarmers today, coming from her scratcher. i took it outside and termite poop came out. so i tossed it.

i found a few dead ones in her cat tree. can her tree be saved? how can i make sure they are all dead in her tree?
i want to buy again her scratching post, because she loves it so much. how can i protect it from termites while also keeping it safe for her to use?

Believe it or not, catnip has shown promise for termite control.

Termites can't live if they can't get to the ground (dirt/soil).
