Hey guys I was wondering if anyone's looked into using the bayer brand Dog Dewormer for tapeworms in cats. The main ingredient is praziquantel in both the only difference is Milligrams.
In the one made for cats it is 23MG. This for cats over 11LB means they have to have a tablet and a half. Most adult males are over 11LB. a tab and a half leads to 34.5 MG necessary to expel the worms.
Now in the pill specified for dogs each pill is 34 MG. Which would be easy to cut for smaller dosages into other cats.
So has anyone tried this? 5 Tablets come in the dog box for 24 dollars comparable to 3 tabs at a lower dosage for 16 and some change. Overall if its viable it would be more cost effective in the long run to use the dog box like using Advantage II XL on cats and just dosing it out.
