Hi guys,
I'm probably over thinking this, but I guess I just need your input and confirmation...
I finally switched Nora to 100% canned diet a few weeks back. Yippee! It literally took months, and at times I didn't think it was going to work. Long story short, she went from free fed dry at the shelter, free fed dry at our home (new cat owner, didn't know any better), then timed dry meals (got smart and read some articles), onto timed dry and wet, then finally 100% canned. There are occasions when she gets picky about what she eats, so sometimes I sprinkle dry kibble on top as a topper (5-6 pieces) to get her eating.
Anyways, since the switch, I've noticed that Nora doesn't touch her water bowl, and the water level barely goes down anymore. I still clean and refill it with fresh water, but I wonder if she getting enough water/moisture through her canned food now? I also add water to some of the pates once they've been in the fridge.
She gets a rotation of: Halo, Weruva, Stella and Chewy's, Nature's Variety Instinct, Wellness, and Simply Norish (stews). All are grain free and almost fish free as her stomach can't tolerate a lot of seafood/fish proteins.
Thanks!
