My little one has recently developed a bald spot and wound in between his shoulder blades from scratching too hard, so instead of using a cone while it heals, I opted for a sweater so he can'g get to it. However, now he's acting like the world is going to end. He just sits and pouts. I understand he's probably uncomfortable, but he goes straight for the sore when I take it off. Is there anything I should be doing differently or do I just have to wait it out until he's healed up?

You can also swab the "ouchie" with chilled chamomile tea, which will relieve the irritation, and may help ease his determination to claw at it. Just use commercial bags from the grocery coffee and tea aisle, that's the German variety, always, and the English variety is toxic to cats.
