Surrendering Your Cat Because You Don't Spend Enough Time With Them?

Not a downer, it's incredibly difficult @foxxycat. This part of the thread discussion has taken a turn to the side, sort of, not intending to hijack it ....I've been planning to write in my will what I want to have happen, which would be that the Big Guy goes to a true no-kill shelter, not the best but the best I can come up with for him, or any future cats we have. I realize this isn't a total guarantee, but I figure it's better than nothing because I have that same situation of relatives with dogs and kids, one who wouldn't close up her doggie door just for this cat since she let her previous cat out all the time etc etc.
I have an informal agreement with the Big Guy's former owner, but I personally feel there are simply too many variables and what-ifs to leave the responsibility up to another person. I guess I'll just have to come up with something that will work, if it means giving a few donations to the shelter I'm thinking of.
