Suggestions for transporting two cats in two cages

In order to keep the peace, I need to have both cats' nails trimmed every few weeks so there's no imbalance. I hesitate to sling two cages into the back seat of my car without making them secure as I don't want them sliding around

Any suggestions?

Loop the seat belt through the carrier handle and latch in place like normal. Or place the carriers on the floor behind the front seats if there is room.

I completely agree, that's what I do. I put the carrier on the floor of the back seats and, if necessary, move the front seats up a little to make room. That way there's no wiggle room for the carrier to slide around and they are secure on the floor. I remember one time when our dog was in the car and I had to make a sudden stop to avoid another car that was driving to fast from hitting me. Even though our dog had a harness attached to the seat belt the impact of me slamming on the brakes was so great that he nearly fell off the seat. Ever since then I always put the cat carrier on the floor.

I have two of this type of carrier. If I have to carry both at once I use an octopus cord to secure them in the back (my back seats are always folded down).
