Struvite Crystals & CD food

Hello

Tyson my little baby (well he's 9 tomorrow) had Struvite Crystals a year ago and thanks to this website and a £800 vet bill he is fighting fit.

My concern is he is still on the dryCD pet food and the vet wants to keep him on it, but I read opinions that it causes other problems.

His urine is checked every 3 months and he's checked every 6 months.

What do you think is best.

Since his urine is being checked so often I would keep doing what you are doing. I know there are a lot of discussions about food on this site but when it comes to the problem with crystals in the urine I think sticking with the vet recommended prescription diet is the way to go. The urine needs to be kept as close as possible to a neutral pH and the vet is the only one that can accurately assess that.
