my nephew just recently got married, & his mom made the cake. altho it was a bit different than this, this was the cake she used for 'inspiration'. hers had a 'nest' made from crispy rice noodles & white chocolate on top, w/2 of the birds there - one in the nest, one standing on the edge of the nest. frosting was cream cheese.

I made this cake for my friend's wedding back in May (the photographer gave me permission to link to it):



The flowers are made of gum paste and individually wired. The cake itself is covered in fondant with black satin ribbon. It survived a 10-trip (unstacked and the flowers weren't placed, of course) to her city, and devoured.
