Strange Behavior ----- Washing Paws???

Several days ago I saw my cat Misty do something I have never seen a cat do. She has a food plate in our kitchen and nearby is a water bowl. What I saw her do was this -- she stuck her right paw into the water bowl and swished her paw around in the water, then she took that paw out of the water and put her left paw into the water and did the same thing with it. I have been around cats since I was a kid and I have never seen any other cat do that! Have any of you seen your cat do this??
As to a post about favorite toys -- Misty likes to bat around the mini shredded wheat cereal pieces. She acts like a Hockey player and also carries them around in her mouth and hides them in all of our closets and under area rugs.

Charlie sometimes likes to pat the surface of the water before drinking. The article says that quirky behaviors around water bowls aren’t a problem, unless a cat plays with the water so much that they empty the bowl.
