So..i am administering this stuff to 5 of my cats for ringworm

Everyone hates me...but my big boy Apollo..14 pounds...has a few more lesions than the rest..his dosage is 3.2 ml that i guve to him in 2 doses of 1.6

When i gave him the 3.2 ml in one shot, he started to drool

I'm sure this stuff tastes disgusting..but my boy seems to be a little more " lazy" than usual, also

I give them food and cat cookies with this medicine, also

And, they get an anti fungal cream twice a day

I am just naturally a worrier..but i am worried about my Apollo

Also, does his dosage seem correct?

And, one last thing..my vet said i can hive this stuff to them for 3 weeks straight as opposed to 1 week on and one week off

Also, how do you handle your cats hating you?

This ..plus the ringworm outbreak..just sucks

AND..I also have a few lesions..using cream prescribed to me, but they are not going away, albeit, they just look like small red marks

Yes, ringworm is the pits :sigh: As far as whether or not the dosage is correct, you realy should check with your Vet on that. Yes, they DO make mistakes, so definitely question them if you think there could be an issue, but I know this medication is based on the cat's weight.

Now, you said you are also using an antifungal cream on them twice a day? That seems a little odd tome, because 1) they can lick it off, and 2) unless they are hairless cats, how to you know where to apply it until they've lost the hair where the fungus is? The usual treatment is either a medicated shampoo twice weekly, or a "dip" twice weekly so the entire cat is treated.

Here are a couple articles on ringworm that may help:

Ringworm In Cats: How To Win The Fight

Ringworm for Cats | Manhattan Cat Specialists | Articles (BTW, that sporanox is also known as itraconazole in this article)

As far as handling your cats hating you, they don't really hate you, and they'll get over it. We had to force feed one of ours last week, and he fought us tooth and nail, but in the middle of the night, he still "snuck" up on the bed and cuddled in, every single night :catrub:

For yourself, did YOUR doctor prescribe your cream? Lamisil usually works! Are you taking anything orally? Not sure if humans need to do that or not :paperbag:

I went to urgent care..and the doctor prescribed me cream..i think i will go back for the oral meds as my few spots from.the ringworm aren't going away. But honestly, i thought they were mosquito bites

As for mt cats..they do have hair loss on their ears and/or their chins/ upper lips..so the cream i didn't think was enough and asked about a " better medication "..and for 320$$$ it better work!!! Lol

The lesions on my kitties really aren't so bad and look to be improving after 3 days

I don't know if this helps, but i have had an air purifier specifically for pet households running 24/7.. it has a hepa filter and it ionizes the air. Hubby and i purchased a second one..still in the box..just to have

But before this ringworm outbreak, the filter really took care of any cat odor...we also picked up a couple of litter robots

And yes, these are million dollar alley cats!.. lol...but as corny as it sounds, i love my cats more than anything
