Hi there
I've been freaking out the past couple of days and Google hasn't helped me.
I got my 8 month female cat spayed on Saturday, I live in Thailand and my local vet ......well I was upset when I went into the surgery. It didng look very hygenic or very sterile. Before people say I shouldn't have brought her there its very typical Thailand and I live in the countryside.
Anyway she got upset getting her temperature taken her hair started falling out. When the vet went to give the anesthetic she got really upset and the vet seem (nervous) anyway it was horrible she clawed me and jumped off the table ran into a corner, the anesthetic started working and she slumped into the corner. I was really upset and worried because she was so distressed going under. I went back to collect her and he wanted me to take her while she was still asleep!!!! The incision was done in her side and like gauze was sewn in with the stitches. I have to bring her back in 7 days for the stitches to be removed.
Anyway got her home and she was so distressed I wasn't expecting this kind of a reaction. She cried and cried I ended up holding her and like gently rocking her to calm her. I was given no cone so I cut up a T-shirt and losely tied it around her.
She couldn't walk which I know is normal from the anesthetic wearing off. She kept falling and collapsing. She wouldn't eat or drink anything, I gave her a small bit of water with a syringe and some medicine and she vomitted.
She then climbed into her litter box and went to sleep, Itook her out twice but she went back in so i left her.
This morning she was still unsteady but seemed more alert. I've been giving her small bits of water from syringe and she actually ate a very small bit of cooked chicken. And I noticed she wasn't walking with her back legs properly like she was in pain?.
She's gone into her litter box again tonight
But she seems in pain [emoji]128542[/emoji]i don't know if this is normal or not! Just the experience with the vet worried me. Tomorrow morning (unless she miraculously eats tonight) will be 3 days since she's eaten or drank (apart from the little bits I've given her)
I'm just really worried she's so sad I feel awful for her! I'm wondering should I travel to another vet? I just don't want to distress her more bringing her in somewhere
Any advice or help will really be appreciated
