The saga continues.... Just had a call from the new vet. Blood test confirms that Egypt is indeed having hormonal issues. That means that the first 2 vets who did 3 surgeries managed to miss part of an ovary. This poor cat! She is exceptionally calm right now, so we agreed to hold off on a 4th surgery until she begins another heat cycle. If they do the surgery while she is actually in heat it may increase the visibility of the ovarian remnant. And in the meantime, I'm praying for God to just eradicate the errant tissue before she goes into heat again! :-) I really hate to put her through another surgery.
I'm thankful that this vet took me seriously, did blood work, and confirmed that I'm not crazy. And encouraged that she has a partner who has done many of these surgeries successfully.
We did discuss hormone therapy, but she is not in favor of it. She said the treatments that are available have some serious side-effects. Does anyone have feedback about that?
